Stage 6 introduces “whole-body” jhanas, which the book describes as “very light”. Most students describe them as “close to nonexistent” or “did it really occur?”. There is some small value in playing with moving the meditation object around, but I don’t think they are worth spending much time on.
When you are able to achieve access concentration (characterized by, among other things, piti arising), then I think it’s worth trying for a Jhana. Access concentration usually starts to appear around the end of Stage 6 or in Stage 7.
